Polish financial watchdog backs mortgages priced off central bank rate

Poland's Financial Supervision Authority (KNF) has assessed that pricing mortgages as the central bank rate plus a bank margin would increase transparency for borrowers. The watchdog said such a formula could operate alongside existing reference rates like WIBOR. The change would tie mortgage repayments more directly to National Bank of Poland decisions.
