Intel reveals Diamond Rapids: 256 cores and over 1 GB of cache memory

Intel has revealed the first details of its Diamond Rapids Xeon processors at the Hot Chips conference. The chips will offer up to 256 cores, over 1 GB of last-level cache and very fast interfaces. Intel describes this as one of the most powerful server processors it has ever built.
