Constitutional lawyer: only a full reset of the Constitutional Tribunal can end the crisis
Marcin Szwed, a constitutional lawyer affiliated with the University of Warsaw and the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights, says the only way out of the Polish Constitutional Tribunal crisis is a complete reset of its current bench combined with a change in the rules for selecting judges. He argues that without a genuine constitutional compromise, no other solution will be durable. The Tribunal has been mired in a legitimacy dispute for years.
