Only 16 of 100 planned bypasses completed — construction far behind schedule
Poland's programme to build bypasses around smaller towns is far behind schedule — only 16 of the planned 100 have been completed so far. The bypasses are intended to divert heavy transit truck traffic away from town centres and improve safety for local residents. The delays are fuelling frustration in communities still waiting for relief from through traffic.
