UK to build 70,000 affordable homes in England under £39bn plan

The UK government has committed £39 billion to build 70,000 social and affordable homes across England. Funding has been allocated to Greater Manchester, the West Midlands and West Yorkshire, with a separate £6 billion earmarked for London. The plan represents one of the country's largest ever housing investment programmes.
