Over 1.1 million GM vehicles probed over brake failure reports
US federal safety regulators (NHTSA) are expanding an investigation into more than 1.1 million General Motors vehicles following hundreds of reports of brake failure. The problem involves GM's eBoost brake-by-wire system, which can suffer a spindle fracture leading to immediate total brake loss — contradicting GM's claim that key safety features remain operational. Affected vehicles include GM's own electric models as well as cars built for Honda and Acura.
