Leftist politician appointed to lead Polska Press despite pledges to depoliticise state firms

Elżbieta Żuraw, a politician from the Left party, has been appointed head of Polska Press — the publisher of local newspapers and websites taken over by Orlen under Daniel Obajtek's leadership. The current ruling coalition had previously pledged to depoliticise state-owned companies and media. Żuraw commented on the appointment by saying she "wanted to develop in business."
