Average 207-day wait for endocrinologist — new e-registration system aims to cut queues

From August 2026, patients can book their first NHS-funded endocrinologist appointment through a new central e-registration system, allowing them to compare available slots across the whole country. The average wait for such a visit currently stands at 207 days, with some queues stretching to 426 days. The system is intended to help patients find faster appointments at clinics outside their immediate area.
