"I forgave him long ago" — widow of Łazienkowska crash victim speaks out

In 2024, Łukasz Żak caused a fatal crash on Warsaw's Trasa Łazienkowska, killing Rafał, the husband of Ewelina. In July 2026, Żak was sentenced to 20 years in prison and a lifelong driving ban. In her first interview since the tragedy, Ewelina spoke about rebuilding her life two years on and said she forgave the man responsible long ago.
