Turkey, one of the gold-medal favourites at the Women's Volleyball European Championship, defeated Hungary 3-0 in their group stage match played in Istanbul. The Hungarians put up a surprisingly strong fight before Turkey sealed the final set 25-14. Both teams are in the same group as Poland.
