Ceasefire verification mission deploys to eastern DR Congo

A ceasefire verification mission comprising representatives of the DR Congo government, Rwanda-backed AFC/M23 rebels, and ICGLR observers arrived in South Kivu on Monday. The deployment followed an agreement the previous day between the DRC and AFC/M23 on a Switzerland-mediated roadmap for peace talks.
