Dozens of registry offices resist new marriage certificate form with gender asterisk

New marriage certificate templates took effect on Monday, allowing same-sex couples married abroad to have their documents transcribed in Poland; the form includes a field marked with an asterisk and the note "select as appropriate." However, dozens of registry offices declared their opposition to using the new forms. The change was announced by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digitisation Krzysztof Gawkowski.
