US proposes $103,000 fee for H-1B skilled worker visas

The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on Monday proposed a new regulation establishing a $103,000 fee for H-1B visas, which allow American employers to hire skilled foreign workers. A previous presidential executive order imposing similar fees was struck down by a court. The proposal must still go through the standard regulatory rulemaking process before it can take effect.
