Polish government plans new 0.25% levy on cigarette and alcohol sales for health fund

The Polish government is working on a new 0.25% levy on sales of cigarettes and alcoholic drinks, Rzeczpospolita reports citing unofficial sources. Revenue from the charge would flow into a dedicated health protection fund. The levy would be separate from the existing excise duties already applied to these products.
