Couple run over and killed on Kraków's Solna Street — councillors had warned about the danger a year earlier

A couple — parents of a young child — were killed by a car on Solna Street in Kraków. District councillors had already called for traffic-calming measures on that street in 2024, but the deputy mayor dismissed the requests, saying there were "no grounds" for changes. Following the tragedy, the acting city president gave city officials 24 hours to propose safety improvements for the street.
