Polish Finance Ministry asks central bank about using reference rate for mortgage pricing
Poland's Finance Ministry has formally asked the National Bank of Poland whether the central bank's reference rate could be used as the benchmark for mortgage interest rates. The proposal, put forward by the Financial Supervision Authority and the banking sector, could affect the cost of home loans for millions of Poles. The ministry had previously signalled this step.
