Polish writer Ignacy Karpowicz dies at 50

Ignacy Karpowicz, one of the most prominent Polish writers of his generation, has died at the age of 50. The author of novels including "Ości" and "Balladyny i romanse," he was remembered by publisher Wydawnictwo Literackie as someone who "introduced Polish literature into a new dimension." His final novel, "Ludzie z nieba," was praised as evidence of his still-developing creative talent.
