Glucksmann enters French presidential race as left fractures further
MEP Raphaël Glucksmann has announced his candidacy for France's presidential election, joining a crowded left-wing field. Hard-left leader Jean-Luc Mélenchon is also planning to stand, alongside Greens leader Marine Tondelier, Socialist Party leader Olivier Faure, and possibly former president François Hollande. The growing number of left-wing contenders risks splitting the vote and weakening the left's overall chances.
