US firms that backed Voting Rights Act fund groups working to undermine it
More than a dozen US companies — including Airbnb, DoorDash, Target and Zillow — signed a 2021 letter urging Congress to strengthen the Voting Rights Act but continue donating to groups actively working to undermine it. The Center for Political Accountability, a nonpartisan watchdog, found the firms are contributing to 527 organisations linked to the Republican Attorneys General Association. The findings were shared exclusively with the Guardian.
