Poland and five EU states demand windfall tax on oil companies profiting from Middle East war

Six European Union countries, including Poland, are calling for an EU-wide windfall tax on oil companies whose profits have surged as a result of the Middle East war, AFP reported on Saturday. The initiative aims to redistribute excess profits from the energy sector. The other five supporting states were not named in AFP's dispatch.
