PlayStation fans launch digital blackout protest over Sony's disc phase-out

Sony announced this summer that it will stop producing PlayStation physical discs in January 2028. Fans dissatisfied with the decision organised a digital blackout protest, which officially began on 23 August. The boycott is intended to demonstrate community strength and pressure Sony into reversing course.
