Lukashenko wishes Ukraine peace — while Minsk backs Russia's invasion

Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko sent Independence Day greetings to Ukrainians, wishing them health, prosperity and peace, and expressing hope that future generations of Belarusians and Ukrainians would preserve "age-old bonds of friendship." The gesture comes despite Minsk actively supporting Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine since 2022.
