Polish government to inject over PLN 41bn into public health fund in 2027 budget

Poland's draft 2027 budget plans to increase the state subsidy to the National Health Fund (NFZ) by nearly PLN 17 billion, bringing total additional funding beyond health-insurance contributions to over PLN 41 billion. Health Minister Jolanta Sobierańska-Grenda announced the figures in Sztum. The move is an acknowledgement that the contribution-based funding model alone can no longer sustain the system.
