Nvidia and Supermicro staff charged in Taiwan for smuggling restricted AI chips to China

Prosecutors in Keelung, a port city in northern Taiwan, indicted nine people on Monday, including employees of Nvidia and Supermicro, for illegally exporting AI servers to China. The servers contained advanced Nvidia chips covered by US export restrictions. The case highlights ongoing vulnerabilities in controls over technology shipments to China.
