EU approves €6.1bn in defence orders for Ukraine on independence anniversary
European leaders gathered in Kyiv to mark the 35th anniversary of Ukrainian independence, including the UK Prime Minister, the President of the European Council, and the presidents of Estonia and Moldova. The European Commission announced it had approved new defence procurement orders for Ukraine worth €6.1 billion. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen made the announcement during the celebrations in the Ukrainian capital.
