Syria and Israel held US-mediated talks in Jordan to defuse tensions

Syria and Israel held US-mediated talks in Jordan on Sunday aimed at defusing a crisis triggered by an Israeli strike that Israel said was intended to prevent a Turkish military deployment. Damascus declared it wants to stay out of tensions between Israel and Turkey. The talks focused on de-escalation between the two sides.
