Morocco admits border guards were ordered to let migrants into Ceuta
Morocco's Justice Minister Abdellatif Ouahbi admitted on Sunday that authorities ordered border guards to allow migrants to cross into Spain's Ceuta enclave on 30 and 31 July to prevent deaths. Around 80,000 people entered Ceuta over those two days. The admission marks an unprecedented migration surge and a serious diplomatic crisis between Morocco and Spain.
