Iran invited to join Saudi-Turkey-Pakistan defence pact

Iran has been invited to join the Mecca Accord, a new defence alliance formed by Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Pakistan, according to "The Jerusalem Post" citing pro-government Iranian broadcaster Al Mayadeen. Tehran has officially neither confirmed nor denied the reports. The potential membership would mark a significant shift in regional security alignments.
