Poll: Most Canadians back PM Carney in trade dispute with the US

A large majority of Canadians support Prime Minister Mark Carney's decision to suspend trade negotiations with the United States, according to an Angus Reid Institute poll published on 23 August. Respondents believe Canada will emerge stronger from the confrontation with the US. However, 13% of those surveyed expressed serious fears about the consequences of the dispute.
