Duplantis struggled in Chorzów but answered Karalis' challenge and attacked world record

Armand Duplantis had a difficult start at the pole vault competition during the Kamila Skolimowska Memorial in Chorzów, knocking the bar down three times before rival Emanuilas Karalis — who had cleared 6.16m — did the same. Duplantis responded brilliantly to the Greek's tactical move and then made an attempt at the world record. Just three days earlier in Lausanne, he had made two attempts at 6.32m.
