EU's new EES border system causing chaos and long queues for UK summer travellers

The EU's Entry/Exit System (EES), which requires non-EU citizens to register and provide photos and fingerprints at Schengen zone borders, has been in full force since April but continues to cause significant disruption. British travellers report long queues, visa mix-ups and widespread frustration ahead of the summer holiday season. The system launched last autumn and has been plagued by teething problems since its introduction.
