Poland now allows transcription of same-sex marriages from abroad in civil registry offices

New Polish regulations that took effect on 23 August allow same-sex couples married abroad to have their marriage certificates transcribed in any civil registry office in Poland. The change marks a significant legal development for couples who wed outside the country. Previously, such transcription was not possible under Polish law.
