Poland and five EU states call for windfall tax on oil companies' war-linked profits

Six EU member states — including Poland, Germany, Italy, Austria and Portugal — have signed a letter calling for an EU-wide windfall tax on oil company profits linked to the Middle East war. The letter was signed by their finance ministers, according to AFP. The proposal targets profits deemed exceptional due to the conflict.
