Polish 4x100m relay misses national record — baton never reached Swoboda

At the Kamila Skolimowska Memorial in Chorzów, Poland's mixed 4x100m relay came within 0.15 seconds of the national record. A new record looked certain until Kopeć failed to correctly hand the baton to Ewa Swoboda, costing the team a historic run. The relay was competing for a place in the Ultimate Championship and a step toward next year's World Championships in Beijing. Swoboda also ran the 100m women's event that closed the meeting.
