Starry Night telescope photo captures star-forming cloud and ancient star clusters

A new image from the Dark Energy Camera on the Victor M. Blanco Telescope in Chile captures the Corona Australis Molecular Cloud, one of the closest active star-forming regions to Earth at just 430 light-years away. Temperatures there drop to around minus 260°C, enabling dense gas and dust pockets to collapse and birth new stars. The image also includes ancient globular star clusters far beyond the cloud, all in a single sweeping view reminiscent of Van Gogh's "The Starry Night."
