Violent storms batter Baltic states: 520,000 homes lose power, two dead

Powerful storms and gale-force winds swept through Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia on Saturday, causing widespread destruction. The weather uprooted trees, damaged power lines and disrupted road, rail and air traffic. More than 520,000 households in Lithuania and Latvia lost electricity. Two people were killed in the disaster.
