Drug-linked shooting wounds man in Brussels, day after police station attack

A man was shot and wounded Saturday evening in Brussels' Saint-Gilles district on a square known for drug trafficking, with Saint-Gilles Mayor Jean Spinette saying his injuries were not life-threatening and linking the incident to narcotics crime. The shooting followed a separate attack the previous day in which gunmen with a heavy weapon targeted a police station in Anderlecht before fleeing on an e-scooter. Brussels regional Minister-President Boris Dilliès called it "yet another wake-up call" and vowed that organised crime would not take over the city.
