Kazakhstan holds parliamentary election with no real opposition allowed

Kazakhstan held a parliamentary election in which only state-approved parties loyal to President Tokayev were permitted to participate. The vote takes place amid a sweeping constitutional overhaul and is expected to cement the president's hold on power. No independent or opposition party was allowed to take part.
