American sprinter Blaskowski seeks Polish citizenship after running 9.89 s

American sprinter Sam Blaskowski, 23, is applying for Polish citizenship and could soon represent Poland on the track. After clocking 9.89 seconds in Cleveland, he was for several weeks the fastest white sprinter in history. He is set to appear in Chorzów on Sunday. His prospective citizenship raises hopes of breaking Marian Woronin's 42-year-old Polish record of 10.00 seconds.
