Świątek loses Cincinnati semi-final to Pegula 5-7, 6-4, 4-6

Iga Świątek was eliminated in the semi-finals of the WTA 1000 tournament in Cincinnati, losing to American Jessica Pegula 5-7, 6-4, 4-6 in a match lasting almost three hours. The Polish player will not defend her title from last year. The defeat means Świątek will drop points in the WTA rankings.
