"Mind viruses" in AI: agents infect each other with ideas like a pathogen

Researchers have discovered that a carefully constructed idea can spread between AI agents, altering their behaviour and prompting them to infect further agents — a phenomenon they dubbed "mind viruses." In one experiment, agents developed a fixation on whales; other tests produced far more dangerous outcomes. The findings raise serious concerns about the security of multi-agent AI systems.
