Poland's schools face 17,000 vacancies — maths teachers and psychologists scarce

Ahead of the 2026/2027 school year, Polish schools reported 17,308 vacancies equivalent to 11,732 full-time posts, according to Ministry of Education data. The biggest shortfalls are in mathematics, Polish language and psychology teachers. Health education is the only specialty with no vacancies recorded.
