Ban on pathological livestreaming takes effect — Criminal Code amendment now in force
An amendment to Poland's Criminal Code banning pathological livestreaming (so-called "patostreaming") came into force on Sunday. The legislative push was triggered by Polsat News's "No to Pathological Celebrities" series from autumn 2024, which brought public attention to the scale and harm of the phenomenon. The new rules are intended to protect internet users, especially children, from content promoting harmful behaviours.
