Poland and five EU states push for windfall tax on oil giants

Six European Union countries, including Poland, are calling for an extraordinary EU-wide windfall tax on oil corporations whose profits surged as a result of the conflict in the Middle East. The demand was reported by AFP on Saturday. The initiative aims to tax excess revenues of oil companies at the EU level.
