Record drought forces massive water cuts on three Colorado River states

Three US states that draw water from the Colorado River have had massive cuts imposed on their water usage after the river basin recorded its worst-ever snowpack last winter. The shortfall is hitting agriculture, commercial industry, ecological habitats and hydroelectric power generation hard. The crisis deepens the already chronic decline in Colorado River water levels.
