Powerful storms swept through north-eastern Poland, leaving 65,500 customers without electricity by Saturday evening, according to PGE Dystrybucja, which had already cleared some of the widespread outages. Fire brigades in the Podlaskie region responded to nearly 800 call-outs during the day. Repair crews are working to restore power across the affected area.
