Belarusian opposition leader Alaksandr Milinkiewicz buried at Warsaw's Powązki Cemetery

Alaksandr Milinkiewicz, one of the most prominent leaders of the Belarusian democratic opposition and a challenger to Lukashenko, was buried at Powązki Cemetery in Warsaw. He was farewelled by family, friends and representatives of the Belarusian opposition. Polish President Karol Nawrocki expressed hope in a letter that a free Belarus would honour Milinkiewicz's place in its national memory. He died aged 79.
