Denmark proposes stripping automatic refugee status from Ukrainians in safer regions

Denmark's centre-left government on Saturday unveiled a proposal to tighten rules on Ukrainian refugees staying in the country. Ukrainians from regions less affected by the war would no longer be automatically granted protection as refugees in need of shelter. The plan introduces a more differentiated approach to asylum assessment based on the applicant's home region in Ukraine.
