Russia plants flowerbeds where monument to political repression victims stood in Tomsk

In Tomsk, the site of a monument to victims of political repression — including Poles — dismantled in April has been replaced with flower beds, according to Novaya Gazeta Europe. Authorities claimed the removal was necessary due to a landslide risk and promised the memorial would be reconstructed. Instead, decorative planters were installed in its place.
