Storms hit Poland — firefighters battle weather damage, territorial defence on standby

Poland's national meteorological institute IMGW issued storm warnings for the south-west of the country and strong-wind alerts for the Podlaskie, Mazowieckie, Łódź and Warmińsko-Mazurskie regions. Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz announced that Territorial Defence Forces are on standby to support emergency services. Scuffles were reported in Warsaw near a closed park.
